On the printed programme, 7 riders were listed as being on scratch and leaving at 9.11am.  Changes to this arrangements saw a new scratch time of 9.12am created with 3 riders: 1. Mike Hoile, 2. Clive Page and an additional rider to the printed programme, 101. Simon Cooper.
 
This left 5 riders from the original scratch bunch now as chopping block. 
No. 7-  Rino Esposito was a DNS so this chopping block bunch was reduced to 4 riders.
